The Top Federations
Yeah, took a little while this week for this ranking to come out... Well, besides going back home and getting sick, just hadn't the time to get it in. Well, it's up! Enjoy! Next week [or... this week?] will be the last set of rankings for this four-week-cycle: Women and Juniors!
Rank: #1
Federation: RCW
Weeks: 62
Change: +1
Fed Champ: Juan Vasquez
Comments: RCW rolls high into it's next show - the big one - Glory. It's the fed's crown jewel of PPV's and it should be [as the kids say] 'off the hook'. Only one or two iffy matches slated, but the tag team Unholy War should be an awesome sight, the Super J-Crown match should be great, and the main... Well, that's match of the year even if it's not perfect.
Rank: #2
Federation: UWF
Weeks: 62
Change: -1
Fed Champ: "Doomsayer" Kyle Lee
Comments: UWF's Rise to Power PPV should be a contender for show of the year, definitely. A great line-up, even with a weakish main event [when compared to the other matches on the card]. It should be fun to see what direction the federation takes as a result of the match winners of the PPV.
Rank: #3
Federation: USJP
Weeks: New
Change: NR
Fed Champ: Blackout
Comments: Night of Champions proved to be great, showing that 2005 could be called the revival of wrestling. USJP's not for everyone, but when you take a look at their roster, there's not a real weak link in it. The Gauntlet's a fun match to look at a couple of times.
Rank: #4
Federation: EPW
Weeks: New
Change: NR
Fed Champ: None
Comments: USJP narrowly edged out EPW for the third spot, but I'd say the EL is right up there with them in quality. They've got some new faces like Mayfair, Sweets, and Hollywood by Night [among others] that will be house hold names by the end of the year, trust me on that.
Rank: #5
Federation: MLW
Weeks: 16
Change: -1
Fed Champ: Johnny Oakes
Comments: This was another tough call - it was either MLW or PPW. One's been taking a slide while the other's hot off the bat new... However, the Epochalypse PPV wasn't that bad [even with what I've said about the championship match ending], so I'm taking the Maple Leaf for this round. Next month may be a different story... Maybe not...
Honorable Mention: Pinnacle Pro Wrestling, Premier Championship Wrestling, Jersey Jack Grappling, Wrestling Association of North America

Exactly how I would have done them.
I am also glad PPW didn't get ranked. We've only had 2 shows, an unfair comparison to everyone else for sure.
RCW and UWF both have PPV's coming out, major ones at that. Glory is RCW's Mania with a main event as big as they get. UWF's Rise to power is a huge turning point for the fed.
Plus USJP just had a supercard themselves. I would EASILY agree that 2005 is the year e-w starts rising again.

These rankings make me want to read more feds, and that is a very good thing.
Congrats to those people busting their butts in all these feds, and to the ones who have yet to be ranked.
Keep having fun, I know I am! :-)

WANA rocks... so I was happy to see it at least get an honorable mention. Fletcha-san is, of course, sugureta so it's no surprise to see RCW on top. UWF could likely give him stiffer competition were it to have a faster pace but then... that would take away a lot of its appeal to the handlers.
Dang but... a lot of the old-time feds sure have fallen by the wayside, huh?

Well, here's the feds I know about.
RCW: Clearly the best fed going now. I'd find it difficult to make a case for anyone else... then again, I don't know half of these feds. :-)
UWF: I love the fact that UWF has endured over the years the way it has. Very, very few feds even approach it in that aspect.
JJG: Well, it's just starting, and with Moze away due to his personal life, my biggest worry is that he'll place undue criticism on himself for having to take a break so early. Nonetheless, he knows what he's doing.
WANA: Well, it's my fed :-). I must concede that a summary fed isn't for everyone, especially one that's run the way WANA is. It's so different from the other feds that it's really hard to compare them.
Good stuff, Bren.

The feds I know.
RCW and UWF are 1 and 2 the talent and the time is there. You cant argue. They deserve and get recognition. But they also live and breathe internally. I care about more what comes after.
USJP - Well I was one of the few people on USJP's early bandwagon. I loved my time there with Evangelista and it was a shame that it had to end. But I always wanted them to get the recognition they deserved. Heck they are so big now I doubt I could even get my foot in the door. Ralston was nothing but nice to me. A real class act. They DESERVE recognition.
As well as
EPW - Go read our Make or Break you Weekend and see if you can go all the way through it without being entertained. With Heaven Lee mayfield, Billy Sweets, Travis LaGrange, Grant Stone, you just couldnt ask for a more Indy feel. Duff is the man to me. He invitied me for the soul reason of having fun. AndI can't thank him enough for it. This fed can only get better.
JJG - I am trying to get into I wish the cards were a little more public. That was my only complaint with USJP. If you were not there in the beginning, then you neve knew about it. But this fed has legs and I will be watching.
